Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office published on April 22, 2020 in the Industrial Property Official Gazette (RPI) No. 2572 the allowance of a Patent Application filed on November 7th, 2019.
On behalf of the applicant, VLG Brazil IP filed a request for “Expedited Examination” and Brazilian PTO issued its decision allowing the Invention Patent in 167 days (5 months, 2 weeks and 1 day) from its filing date.
Our client Mrs. Ruana Casas, who is a firefighter, created a basket for rescuing animals in emergency situations. Check out her testimonial:
“The ‘new’ generates fear and insecurity. Ignorance makes us even think about giving up! During the creation process I faced several challenges. I knew little information about patent processes, which could make achieving to have a recognized invention even more difficult. Then, I met the firm VLG Brazil Intellectual Property and I felt the security that I needed to move forward. […] It is rewarding to find a firm that works diligently to register ideas and to make the inventor recognized! In an extraordinary period of 5 months, we received the allowance from the INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property) for the “Cespú Xavier de Salvamento” equipment. The dream became reality and the idea [became] a registered and recognized invention. Thanks to my God! Thanks to family! Thanks to VLG Brazil Intellectual Property! Thanks to everyone who contributed to this achievement! “
On average, it takes approximately 8-10 years for each patent application to mature into registration in Brazil. However, Brazilian PTO provides some paths to speed up the patent examination.
VLG Brazil IP is the first Brazilian IP Firm to have a Patent Application granted by the program “green patents” within 2 years only.
Last month, we received a notice of allowance in less than 7 months from its filing date using the Fast Track “Applicant aged 60 years or older”.
